Saoirse Ronan and her Mary Queen of Scots co-star, Jack Lowden, reportedly said "I do" in a low-key marriage ceremony in Scotland after dating for six years.

The Scottish civil marriage records obtained by Irish Independent revealed that the star couple tied the knot at the Edinburgh Registrar's Office on July 20, 2024. The intimate ceremony included their family and closest friends who were sworn to secrecy.

Ronan and Lowden's dating news first came out in 2018, around the same time they appeared in a film titled Mary Queen of Scots. They portrayed a married couple on-screen (Mary Stuart and Henry Stuart, aka Lord Darnley).

For the unversed, the 30-year-old actress has an impressive filmography, which includes Little Women and Lady Bird. Both the projects earned her notoriety in the movie scene, accolades, and fortune. Saoirse Ronan's net worth is estimated to be around $9 million according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Saoirse Ronan's career and net worth explored

Saoirse Ronan's million-dollar fortune comes from working as an actress, from Broadway to the silver screen. She made her acting debut with an Irish TV series The Clinic in 2004, where she portrayed the character of Rhiannon Geraghty for four episodes.

Ronan also appeared as a recurring cast in another Irish drama Proof before getting her first film titled I Could Never Be Your Woman in 2007.

In the same year, Saoirse Ronan worked in other movies such as The Christmas Miracle of Jonathan Toomey, and Death Defying Acts. However, it was her portrayal of the 13-year-old Briony Tallis in the romantic war drama Atonement (2007) that made her famous and gave her the first Oscar nod.

From there, her acting career saw an upward trajectory, expanding her filmography up to 50 projects on television and film. Some of her earlier works include City of Ember (2008), The Lovely Bones (2009), The Way Back (2010), Hanna (2011), and Byzantium (2012). She also starred in The Host (2013) as Melanie Stryder, and The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014) as Agatha.

In the 2020 film Ammonite, she featured alongside Kate Winslet. For her performance as Mary Anning, she earned the Best Supporting Actress nomination at the Irish Film and Television Awards.

After a bunch of notable projects, the American-Irish actress started playing significant, higher-paying roles in big movies. Saoirse Ronan landed another main role as Eilis in the 2015 romantic drama Brooklyn, earning her a second Oscar nomination. She received her third nod at the Oscars with 2017's Lady Bird, where she played a strong-willed and deeply opinionated nurse named Lady Bird McPherson.
