Written by Tim Fehlbaum and Moritz Binder and directed by Tim Fehlbaum, the suspenseful drama film, September 5, is scheduled for release in Germany on November 7, 2024. The film's plot chronicles the incidents of the 1972 Munich Olympics when an American sports broadcasting team is suddenly tasked with reporting on the hostage situation involving Israeli athletes.

The 91-minute movie will explore the situation in depth, with a special focus on the viewpoints of the media professionals of ABC Sports who were caught off guard by the unexpected turn of events.

The film will also highlight the broadcasting network's reporting of the incident and the lengths they had to go to do the same. The film will star Peter Sarsgaard, John Magaro, Ben Chaplin and Leonie Benesch.
