Shelby Oaks is an American horror film, written and directed by Youtuber-turned-filmmaker Chris Stuckman. A seasoned film enthusiast and critic, Stuckman is making his feature film debut. He would finally be the one whose film would soon get reviewed after its premiere at the Fantasia Festival this Saturday.
Shelby Oaks has been under development since 2021. The story follows Mia, played by Camilla Sullivan, whose sister Riley disappears. Mia's journey to find her sister leads her to the world of paranormals.

Chris Stuckman has been one of the most popular film critics on YouTube for almost a decade.
His channel named after him has around 2.04 million subscribers as of now. He started working on the film in July 2021, as the writer, director and one of the four producers. His wife Samantha Elizabeth is serving as the co-writer of the film.
Stuckman has often said in his videos that he has been most inspired by the works of director M. Night Shyamalan, and particularly Signs was the film that inclined him towards filmmaking. Shyamalan's influence is evident in the fact that he chose horror as the genre to make his feature film debut.
Shelby Oaks will premiere at the Fantasia Festival
Shelby Oaks will have its premiere at the 28th Fantasia Film Festival on Saturday, July 20, 2024. The film whose filming was delayed due to the shortage of funds in 2021, turned into the msot-funded film on Kickstarter by March 2022.
The film has been signed by Neon for worldwide distribution. The company recently found success with Osgood Perkins's horror film Longlegs. With Shelby Oaks, Neon's vice-president Jason Wald has put another big bet on a horror project.
With Stuckman's name attached to the project and the funding it received, there's certainly an increasing buzz around the film.
Shelby Oaks cast explored
The cast of the film was announced during the 75th annual Cannes Film Festival. Canadian actress Camilla Sullivan is leading the cast as Mia, who gets entangled in the world of paranormal activities and investigators after her sister goes mysteriously missing.
Other actors include Brendan Sexton III, who was seen in Don't Breathe 2 as Robert and Sarah Dunn as Riley, Mia's sister. The supporting actors include Micheal Beach, Robin Bartlett, Keith David and Charlie Talbert.
