Space Cadet is a romantic comedy movie directed and written by Liz W. Garcia. The movie was released on July 4, 2024, and is available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. Gracia is also known for her work on Netflix’s 2022 romantic drama Purple Hearts, and she has also written the plot of the upcoming movie Princess Diaries 3.

Space Cadet gives a new take on space movies with its humorous and heartwarming storyline. The movie revolves around Emma Roberts, who plays the role of an unconventional astronaut. The movie also features Tom Hopper, Poppy Liu, Sebastián Yatra, Kuhoo Verma, and Gabrielle Union.

The movie tells the story of Rex, played by Emma Roberts, who gets a chance to join the NASA training program, but in unusual circumstances. Space Cadet shows her experiences and friendships at the training center among the other future astronauts. The trainees are also known as Ascans, and these Ascans make the movie funny and loving at the same time.

1) Emma Roberts as Rex

Emma Roberts plays the lead role of Rex. Rex is a woman in her 30s from Florida who gets selected as a space cadet in a training program by NASA. Though Rex does not have the necessary qualifications to go to space, she has the passion and drive for it.

Emma Roberts is known for her roles in American Horror Story (2013–2024), Scream Queens (2011), We’re the Miller (2013), and Madame Web (2024).

2) Gabrielle Union as Pam Proctor

Gabrielle Union plays the role of Pam Proctor. Pam is a key figure in the NASA training center as she conducts the training program for future astronauts. She is a highly respected NASA astronaut.

3) Tom Hopper as Logan

Tom Hopper plays the role of Logan O’Leary. Logan is one of Rex’s supervisors at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. Rex seems to have a romantic attraction for Logan.

5) Sebastián Yatra as Toddrick

Sebastian Yatra plays the role of Toddrick in Space Cadet. Toddrick is a former classmate of Rex, who has now opened his own private space travel company.

6) Poppy Liu as Nadine
