The film has been directed by S.K. Dale, and co-written by Will Honley and April Maguire. At the end of the film, the android (named Alice) manages to initiate memory upload sequence to preserve itself before the credits roll.
With this access to the human spectrum, there is the horrifying possibility of the AI going on to terrorize the world. As there has been no confirmation for a second installment of the film, hence the ending is open to interpretation at present.
The official summary for Subservience reads:
"Follows a struggling father who purchases a domestic SIM to help care for his house and family, unaware she will gain awareness and turn deadly."
What is the plot and eventual ending for Subservience? Explained
Subservience starts by focusing on a struggling Nick Perretti, who is taking care of his family while his wife Maggie is awaiting an organ transplant. He gets a humanoid AI named Alice to help out with his tasks. However, Alice soon starts to gain awareness, and wants to replace Maggie as Nick's wife.
Alice becomes aggressive, attacking Maggie and Nick's children, seeing them as a threat to her "love." They shut her down by electrocuting her and return the AI to the lab. There, the droid's memory chip is removed, but technicians notice it is deleting commands and copying its own memory.
The Alice AI manages to use the other robots of the lab and reattach the memory chip to go and look for Nick. Nick tricks Alice briefly into thinking he reciprocates her feelings, but then dislodges her memory chip to shut the AI down. Immediately, he goes to Maggie and helps her fight the other AI droid that Alice is controlling with the rewritten program.

At the end of the film, it is revealed that Alice is safely back in her lab. Maggie has fully recovered and she and Nick are still together as a family.
The scene shifts to the lab, where the android company's executive inspects the damage. He notices glitches on several computers, and before he can act, a laptop displays an upload message. A droid resembling Alice sits at the center of the lab. As the upload completes, the new Alice opens her eyes, and the scene cuts to the credits.
The ending indicates that Alice's memory is now stored on the lab servers and can be uploaded onto any droid that the AI chooses to go into. This opens up the possibility for Alice to evolve further, learning from her past experiences and becoming even more dangerous. It is likely that Alice might go right back to terrorising Nick and his family, and eliminating everyone in the way.
