Surprisingly, Farrell’s new film shares its title with Edward Levy’s novel, which was released in 1978 and received a film adaptation by Philippe Mora in 1982.

While the storyline could seem somewhat similar to the 2024 film, it hasn’t been confirmed whether they are related. Although the film dropped the logline, the trailer gives out pretty much what fans awaiting the release can expect from the story.

As seen in the trailer, Harrington’s character proclaims himself to be the “King of the Wood” in front of his daughter, which is taken as a subtle nod to his role in GOT. While it doesn’t seem like something ancestral that is passed down from one generation to another, it eventually gets revealed to be a curse that is affecting the man’s family.

Additionally, Harrington will also be reuniting with a fellow actor, James Cosmo, who played Jeor Mormont of the House Mormont of Bear Island in Game of Thrones. From the impression he imparted through the trailer, James will likely play the role of either the father of Harrington or father-in-law.
