The Jane Mysteries: A Deadly Prescription on Hallmark+: Full list of cast

Hallmark+ has added another exciting mystery thriller, The Jane Mysteries: A Deadly Prescription, to its library. The movie will debut on September 20, 2024, with Jodie Sweetin and Stephen Huszar in the lead roles.

The movie is a part of The Jane Mysteries series and brings back singer Jane DaSilva and Detective John to fight for justice. The detective duo must race against time to prove the innocence of a wrongly imprisoned teenager.

The first movie in The Jane Mysteries series, Inheritance Lost, introduces Jane, who inherits her family’s foundation—a non-profit detective agency that helps needy people. Jane’s aunt Sadie and Detective John Cameron were mentors as she took on her first case. Together, they delved into the unsolved mystery of a mother's untimely death from a few years earlier. Hallmark is bringing Jane back for another gripping mystery involving the wrongful imprisonment of a teenager.

1) Jodie Sweetin as Jane

Jodie Sweetin is an actor, producer, host, author, and activist. She won the hearts of fans with her role as Stephanie Tanner on ABC’s long-running sitcom Full House and the Netflix spinoff Fuller House.

She is also known for starring in Lifetime's Merry Swissmas and Hallmark's A Cozy Christmas Inn. Jodie Sweetin will star as Jane DaSilva, an inheritor of a philanthropic venture. This non-profit detective agency helps underprivileged individuals in The Jane Mysteries: A Deadly Prescription.

Sweetin was also featured on the celebrity-driven CBS reality series Beyond the Edge and competed in Food Network’s Worst Cooks in America Celebrity Edition: That’s So 90s. The actor has also co-hosted the popular parenting podcast Never Thought I’d Say This and became a recurring guest co-host on The Talk and E! Daily Pop.

In her memoir UnSweetined, the activist side of Sweetin emerges. She has advocated for political and social changes, focusing on women's issues, BIPOC support, and AAPI violence prevention and awareness. Additionally, she has been a strong advocate for climate change action and LGBTQ+ rights.

2) Stephen Huszar as John

Stephen Huszar is a Canadian actor who began his acting career in 2004 with a role in the TV movie The Cradle Will Fall. Shortly after, he landed his first lead role, starring opposite Kim Coates in the feature film Caught in the Headlights.

Since then, he has appeared in recurring roles on popular series such as Smallville for The CW, The Fringe for FOX, Corner Gas for CTV, Paradise Falls for Showcase Continuum, and Supernatural. His feature film credits include Milton’s Secret, 30 Days of Night: Dark Days, Faces in the Crowd, and Ferocious.

Huszar is best known for playing the comic book supervillain Plunder in The CW’s The Flash.

Stephen Huszar also had recurring roles on season six of Chesapeake Shores and season two of Tribal. He has starred in the Netflix romantic comedy Christmas Wedding Planner and Hallmark Channel’s Undercover Holiday.

He plays Detective John, Jane's mentor, who helps her solve mysteries on Hallmark's The Jane Mysteries: A Deadly Prescription.
