What leads to the ending of The Killer?
Zee, played by Emmanuel, is a cunning and ruthless assassin. She lives in Paris and works as a handler for her companion, Finn, played by Sam Worthington, the opening sequence of The Killer. Zee's first task is to clean out a nightclub's entire back room and kill everyone inside.
Zee kills every man in the room, but she saves Jenn, played by Diana Silvers. She's a young American singer aspiring for stardom who was in the room at the time. Jenn is hurt in the altercation and goes blind. It's unlikely she will be able to recognize Zee at all.
Nevertheless, Finn continues to press for Jenn's death. And Zee's pursuit of the truth leads her to Inspector Sey played by Omar Sy.
He's a tenacious detective looking into the killings in connection with a drug trafficking case. It involves the Parisian underground and a Saudi Prince played by Said Taghmaoui.
It appears that the individuals Zee killed were in charge of removing heroin valued at millions of dollars from the prince's private aircraft. All of it was done before it could be given to the customers in France. Jenn may be the only one still alive who knows where the narcotics are. It implies that the heroin is gone, and the French mobsters are uneasy.
Zee senses a strong bond between Jenn and Sey. She believes Finn is more knowledgeable about drugs than he's willing to admit. When she refuses to kill Jenn once more, Finn becomes enraged. He sends his own goons to complete the murder, which results in an encounter that alters Zee's course in life.
The Killer: ending explained
Jenn arrives at the hospital room in time to save her from Finn's hired assassins. Zee drives her to safety in her own Parisian apartment. There, Zee discovers the truth about the pills.
In an attempt to coax additional information from Finn, she stages Jenn's death. Even though she hides her tracks, it's insufficient. Finn's men kidnap Jenn while Sey faces criticism at work for continuing to pursue the prince.
In the end, both the assassin and the detective understand that the true mystery lies with Sey's partner, Jax, played by Gregory Montel. He was complicit in the drug heist the entire time.
He deliberately set up Sey to be the victim of false accusations to remove him from the picture. Zee and Sey steal the narcotics with a negotiating chip in hand. Zee approaches Finn to ask for Jenn's life.
After killing his own boss, Finn confesses his real goal. It's to conquer the Paris underground with the heroin and the money it will bring in. He wants Zee to be his muscle in that endeavor. Zee declines and proposes a straightforward exchange: Jenn for the heroin.
The deal is meant to take place in the pair's regular meeting spot, an abandoned old church in the city. But when Zee discovers that Finn's men are all around her, chaos breaks out. She tries to battle her way out and save Jenn with Sey's assistance.
Finn believes he has the upper hand. Sey destroys the narcotics by setting off a charge concealed in the van. After being severely hurt, Zee and Sey kill Finn, save Jenn and flee.
