The Platform 2 is a Spanish sci-fi thriller movie directed by Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia. A second installment to the 2019 film The Platform by the same director, the story continues with the enduring struggles of the inmates living in "The Pit." The Platform 2 first premiered at the 72nd San Sebastián International Film Festival under the "Culinary Zinema" section.
The movie was made available for streaming on Netflix from October 4, 2024. Following up on the body horror inside the prison Galder created in the initial film, The Platform 2 brings out the incurable hunger residing inside of the prisoners. This time there is a new prisoner named Perempuan, who finds herself in between the gruesome politics happening inside of The Pit.
Every rule inside the tower is created by a cult who call themselves the Loyalists. It is led by a blind man named Dagin Babi, who wants to make sure each prisoner gets his rightful share of food, till the very last floor. But the rules come with a big price, and every rule-breaker has to go through a brutal punishment.

The prisoners soon find themselves in a dilemma of whether to follow the harsh dictatorship or starve themselves to death. The Platform 2 has a talented cast playing new characters while also some reviving the old ones.

1) Milena Smit as Perempuan
Milena Smit plays the role of Perempuan, the protagonist in the movie. She is an artist who is haunted by the guilt from her past. Perempuan willingly enrolls herself in the Pit to buy herself some time. The Platform 2 begins as she wakes up to find herself on the 24th floor, with a shaved head giant as her cellmate.
Milena is a Spanish actress who was born in Elche, Spain. She made her first acting debut in 2020 with David Victori's thriller Cross the Line. Some of her recent works include Parallel Mothers (2021), Dragonflies (2022), The Girl in the Mirror (2022), Tin & Tins (2023), and The Snow Girl (2023).
2) Hovik Keuchkerian as Zamiatin
Hovik Keuchkerian plays the role of Zamiatin, who is the cellmate of Perempuan. Initially, Zamiatin's character feels like a big-headed giant with a very short temper. He has a strong preference for pizza and is not very happy when someone touches his food. But as the story unfolds, the audience realizes that Zamiatin is smarter than he shows himself to be.
Hovik is an actor, author, comedian, and former boxer of Armenian and Spanish descent. He won the Spanish heavyweight championship two times and has published four books until now. Some of his most successful movie and TV credits include Scorpion in Love (2013), Isabel (2013), The Ministry of Time (2015), Assassin's Creed (2016), 4 Latas (2019), Amerikatsi (2022), Un Amor (2023), and Red Queen (2024).
3) Natalia Tena as Sahabat
After Perempuan is shifted down to the 180th floor, she wakes up to discover her new one-armed roommate, Sahabat. Perempuan initially thinks that Sahabat is a newbie and tries to make her identify with the rules of the prison. But soon she realizes that Sahabat has been in the Pit for a much longer time. She helps Perempuan bring the revolution against the Loyalists and unravels her gruesome past.
Natalia Tena is a British actress and musician who is most popularly known for playing the role of Wilding Osha in HBO's Game of Thrones. She has also played the role of Nymphadora Tonks in the Harry Potter franchise. Some of her major screen credits include Ambassadors (2013), 10,000 km (2014), Amar (2017), I Love You, Stupid (2020), and John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023).
4) Óscar Jaenada as Dagin Babi
Óscar Jaenada plays the role of Dagin Babi, who is the central antagonist in The Platform 2. A blind bearded man, he was the person who established a cult inside the Pit called the Loyalists. They have created certain rules in the prison to ensure that everyone only eats his share, and prisoners can have access to food, even on the lowest floors. Anyone trying to break the rules is sentenced to the most brutal punishments.
Óscar is a Spanish actor who started acting in Shakespearean plays at the age of thirteen. He is best known for playing the role of singer Camarón de la Isla in Camarón: When Flamenco Became Legend (2005). Some of his recent works include Gold (2017), Luis Miguel: The Series (2018), Rambo: Last Blood (2019), Hernán (2019), Xtremo (2021), and The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon (2024).
