The Shadow Strays (2024): Release date, where to watch, plot and more 

Director Timo Tjahjanto's highly anticipated The Shadow Strays martial arts thriller is debuting on Netflix on October 17, 2024, after screening at the Toronto International Film Festival in September.

The Indonesian film tells the story of a young assassin called Codename 13, who finds herself suspended from the job after a mission going sideways.

The cast includes Aurora Ribero, Ali Fikry, Hana Malasan, and Adipati Dolken. Tjahjanto, whose credits include Netflix's The Big 4 and Shudder's May The Devil Take You Too, is best known for bringing an explosive combination of brutal action and violence in his films.

She then meets an 11-year-old boy who had a tragic past after he lost his mother. They form a friendship until the young boy, Monji, gets abducted by a crime syndicate.

Eager to rescue her friend, 13 embarks on a mission that sees her in demanding action sequences and a path of destruction to ensure that her friend comes out alive. In her quest to rescue her friend, 13 even goes against her mentor and the very organization that hires her called The Shadow.
