Director Frank Sabatella's 2019 horror movie, The Shed, offers a chilling exploration of classic vampire tropes within a modern, character-driven narrative. The film centers on Stan (Jay Jay Warren), an orphan grappling with typical teenage woes like bullying and unrequited love, only to find his life turned upside down when a vampire takes refuge in his shed.
As the plot unfolds, the situation spirals into a blood-soaked nightmare, culminating in a climactic battle for survival. The film's open ending leaves audiences questioning the fate of the heroes and the true identity of Bane's killer.
Bane is a pivotal character in the movie who is a victim of the trapped vampire which unfortunately causes his death. His death, though indirectly caused by the vampire, is a direct result of the escalating chaos that Stan and his best friend Dommer (Cody Kostro) find themselves entangled in.
How is Bane killed in The Shed?
Bane's death in The Shed is a turning point in the film, steeped in the horror and chaos that characterize the story. Although the vampire trapped in Stan’s shed is the immediate cause of Bane's demise, his death is ultimately a consequence of the human conflicts and poor decisions made by the characters.
Initially, Stan discovers the vampire and tries to deal with the situation himself, but his hesitation and fear prevent him from taking decisive action. As events unfold, Dommer, driven by a desire for revenge and a twisted sense of empowerment, sees the vampire as a tool to eliminate their bullies.
Bane, caught in the crossfire of these escalating tensions, becomes one of the vampire's victims.
His death, while directly caused by the vampire, is also a tragic result of the spiraling human drama and the characters' failure to address the threat in their midst effectively.
What happened to Stan and Roxy in The Shed?
Towards the end of the film, only Stan and his love interest, Roxy (Sophia Happonen) are left standing. Nonetheless, their chances of survival are almost negligible. Following a tiring experience that puts them against vampires and themselves, they seek temporary solace inside a car. Her words to Stan about darkness coming again mean that they will never rest as there is always danger all around them.
Just as thought that it was safe though, the film ends with a twist; showing a vampire hiding in the boot of the vehicle, thereby implying that this nightmarish episode still isn’t over for them.
The fate of Stan and Roxy is uncertain but their injuries coupled with the relentless nature of vampires imply a tragic ending. In The Shed, vampires are depicted as savage creatures who have no control over themselves; hence it would be hardly possible for Stan and Roxy to go through another assault by these monsters alive.

How many survive in The Shed?
With its high death toll along and frantic pace, there is little hope left for other characters’ lives. Many people die because of a vampire located in Stan’s shed like his dog, grandfather, and even some schoolmates who used to bully him before he was bitten by one.
Moreover, due to Dommer becoming a vampired and carrying out various deeds associated with killing people out there, the number of likely survivors reduces further. This portrayal suggests that the vampire's evil is far from eradicated.
If there is a vampire hidden in the trunk of a car, then there must be dangers awaiting them. Stan and Roxy’s precarious situation is intensified by this open ending that also emphasizes the dangers they face daily.
For their survival to succeed they must be able to spot and deal with these problems which are complicated by their weariness.
The Shed is currently available to stream on the Prime Video app.
