The new doc will bring viewers back to 1991 when a Texas mom did everything to get her cheerleading daughter a spot on the team, including hiring a murderer to kill the mother of another cheerleader.
The case, which dubbed the Texas mother, Wanda Holloway, the "Pom Pom Mom," made national news. It was a big controversy then, with people clamoring for the plot of one of the most bizarre and tragic stories in cheerleading history.

The Texas Cheerleader Murder Plot (ID) premieres on streaming on Wednesday, December 18, at 6 pm Pacific Time or 9 pm Eastern Time.

These release timings have been adjusted following the end of Daylight Saving 2024. Per daylight saving time, clocks had to be set by an hour on November 3, and the time will stay the same until daylight saving starts again next year.

Three decades after Wanda Holloway hired a hit man to kill her daughter's cheerleading rival and got convicted for it, the new Investigation Discovery doc unpacks what happened leading up to the crime.
Investigation Discovery's description of the upcoming doc via its Instagram post reads:
"The Texas Cheerleader Murder Plot is a two-hour documentary delving into the notorious murder-for-hire plot concocted by Texas mom Wanda Holloway to eliminate her daughter's cheerleading rival."
Cream Production's description of the doc via its YouTube page also mentions the documentary exploring the details of the story that the popular culture at large got wrong.
Investigation Discovery shared the first look at the upcoming doc on November 20 on YouTube. In the trailer, Holloway can be heard speaking on the phone with the hitman, discussing how much the killing fee is for both mother and daughter.
