What is Trap (2024) all about?
M. Night Shyamalan's psychological thriller follows a dad, Cooper, who takes his teenage daughter to a pop concert to see her favorite artist, Lady Raven. However, when they get there, Cooper notices that security is tight at the venue, which could make his plan challenging.
Unbeknownst to his daughter, he's not only at the concert to serve as her chaperone. Cooper went there because he was monitoring his next victim over the phone. He soon realizes why there is a lot of security at the concert—they are using the venue to trap the serial killer known as "The Butcher," in other words, him.
When he realizes that the concert is a trap by the FBI to finally catch him, he only has the duration of the concert to find a way out without alerting the authorities.
Trap (2024) is not based on a true story, but the film is inspired by the US Marshals' "Operation Flagship," where they capture hundreds of fugitives using scams and trickery.
