Netflix is releasing a four-part anthology, Umjolo, and the first part, Umjolo: The Gone Girl, dropped on the platform on November 8, 2024. The South African feature film from Stained Glass TV tells the raw truths of a young woman's relationship and dating life.
In Umjolo: The Gone Girl, viewers meet Lethu, a hopeless romantic who thinks she's found the perfect match in her boyfriend, Lucky. When they got engaged, she's over the moon, but a doctor's visit shatters everything she thinks about her happily ever after.
Shezi Sibongiseni stars as Lethu and Tyson Mathonsi as Lucky in this film, written by Thuli Zuma and directed by Fikile Mogodi.

Eyami by Lwah Ndunkulu
Umjolo: The Gone Girl also features the 10th track from South African singer-songwriter Lwah Ndunkulu's debut studio album titled Imizwa. Xolani Shabalala, aka Xowla, is credited as the song's producer and co-writer.
The song is about dating a man who appears sweet and who promises a big game, a "winner."
Isifebe Sendoda by Izingane Zoma
Another song that can be heard in the first installment of Netflix's four-part anthology is Izingane Zoma's Isifebe Sendoda from the album, which is written and composed by Shobeni Zwelabantu Mayise.
It's the 11th track from Zoma's 2005 album titled Msholozi. The song is about leaving home to get married, only to marry a manwh*re, which captures the movie's plot and Lethu's struggle after finding out that Lucky slept with 17 other women.
Take Your Time by Fable
Take Your Time by an artist with the stage name Fable is also credited in the movie. In the movie's end credits, it's mentioned that Nkosana Matshou wrote the song while Thema Reli acted as the composer/producer.
Ngiyeza by Lwah Ndunkulu
Netflix's Umjolo: The Gone Girl features another track from Lwah Ndunkulu titled Ngiyeza, which is also from her Imizwa album. The song, which is another collaboration between her and Lwandile Mtshali and Xowla, won the Capasso Most Streamed Song in the 2024 Basadi in Music Awards.

Plot of Umjolo: The Gone Girl
The new Netflix movie tells the story of Lethu, an aspiring event planner who thinks that she found the perfect man in her boyfriend, Lucky. They are the "it" couple who just got engaged, but a trip to her doctor upends their "perfect" relationship.
She discovers that she has chlamydia, something that only her boyfriend could have given her. When she confronts him, he tells her about cheating "once," but she later finds out that there are 17 other women.
