Vanished Into the Night premiered on Netflix on July 11, 2024. The film stars Riccardo Scamarcio and Annabelle Wallis as Pietro and Elena, a married couple in the middle of a divorce and custody battle.
During this challenging time, their children suddenly vanish one night, prompting the two to reconnect with Pietro's criminal past and figure out a way to get their children back. The film is a remake of the Spanish-language Argentinian film Septimo, released in 2013.

Riccardo Scamarcio has had an established career in Italian cinema since the 2000s and is best known in Hollywood for his role as Santino D'Antonio, the primary villain of John Wick: Chapter 2.
Annabelle Wallis as Elena
Annabelle Wallis stars as Elena, Pietro's wife, who begins the movie embroiled in a custody battle with him for their children. Her life is upturned when the children are abducted, and she becomes increasingly concerned about Pietro's willingness to return to his criminal past to get their children back.
Annabelle Wallis is a British actress with an extensive career in Hollywood, known for her roles in television series such as The Tudors and Peaky Blinders, and films such as The Mummy (2017), Annabelle (2019) and Malignant (2021).
Massimiliano Gallo as Nicola
Massimiliano Gallo plays Nicola, an old associate of Pietro's from his drug smuggling past. When Pietro tried to distance himself from this life after his marriage, Nicola grew resentful. However, after the kidnapping, Nicola quickly takes advantage of Pietro's desperation to rope him back into the drug business.
Massimiliano Gallo has had an extensive acting career in Italian theater and film. He is the co-founder of the theatrical Gallo Company alongside his brother, Gianfranco Gallo. Massimiliano began starring in Italian film productions in 2008-09.

What do critics say about Vanished into the Night?
Vanished into the Night received a positive review from John Serba of Decider. He considered the story implausible and silly but praised director Renato de Maria's tight direction, believing that the film did a good job of making him feel harried and emotional as he witnessed Pietro and Elena's struggles.
By contrast, Sarah Musnicky of But Why Tho? considered the film to be a forgettable, by-the-numbers affair, though she praised the film's cinematography and Scamarcio's performance.
