Ariana Grande has officially confirmed that the highly anticipated sequel, Wicked: For Good, is coming in 2025. During a recent interaction with Variety on January 5, she expressed excitement, saying,

"We get to do it again this year!"

As per Forbes, Part 2 of Wicked will hit the theaters on November 21, 2025. Directed by Jon M. Chu, this sequel promises to expand on the journey of the beloved characters from Wicked.

The first Wicked movie came out in theatres on November 22, 2024. It looked at how Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda (Ariana Grande-Butera) became friends before Dorothy came to Oz.

Based on the famous Broadway musical, the movie ended with Elphaba being named Oz's enemy and the Wizard's true nature being shown. According to Box Office Mojo, the film made over $654 million worldwide.

Part 2, Wicked: For Good, will pick up where the first movie left off and look at what happened before The Wizard of Oz. This chapter will discuss how Ariana Grande's character changes into Glinda the Good and how Elphaba becomes the Wicked Witch of the West. Since the confirmation date Wicked: For Good came out, fans are awaiting its release. Along with Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba, Ariana Grande plays Glinda again. Jeff Goldblum is back as the Wizard of Oz, Michelle Yeoh is back as Madame Morrible and Jonathan Bailey is back as Fiyero.

Part I of Wicked recounts the story of Elphaba and Glinda before Dorothy comes to Oz. At the beginning of the movie, residents of Munchkinland are celebrating the Wicked Witch of the West's death. Glinda talks about how their pasts are connected.
