Deadpool & Wolverine has taken the world by storm. Released in theaters on July 26, 2024, the film follows Wade Wilson, who realizes that his world is going to be destroyed soon due to his universe's Wolverine dying. Going across the multiverse, Wade finds a suitable Wolverine to bring to his universe, but both of them soon end up in the Void facing off against Cassandra Nova.

One of the biggest trends to come out of Deadpool & Wolverine was the opening dance number from the film. The movie begins with Deadpool killing a bunch of TVA agents all the while Bye Bye Bye by NSYNC plays in the background. During the fight scene, Deadpool dances to the song as well, and the internet has become obsessed with the choreography.

With many recreating the dance and posting it on social media, a X user, @Feraalsy, took it a step further. He recreated the dance but animated it in the style of Fortnite, and it certainly has the internet going gaga over it.

The video itself has gone so viral that fans now actually want the dance itself to be in the game.

"WE NEED THIS DANCE IN THE GAME," exclaimed one user on X.
"This is how they must have promoted the new collaboration of DEADPOOL X FORTNITE," said another user.

One fan even went so far as to say that the dance itself looks better here than the movie itself.

"looks better than the actual movie," said the user on X.

While only a part of the dance from Deadpool & Wolverine was recreated, many fans now want @Feraalsy to recreate the whole sequence from the film.

"AHHH I love this so much! Please (take your time but) do the whole thing. SO cool," said one user.
"Uh yes hi….im gonna need the full thing lol," said another user.
"I'd pay for a full recreation ngl," joked another user.

Other animators came to praise the effort as well. @FG_Artist, who is best known for animating the Lego sequences in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, had some kind words to share as well.

Who performed the Deadpool & Wolverine opening dance?

The opening dance number in Deadpool & Wolverine was done by Nick Pauley, a professional dancer who has appeared in numerous pop music videos, the likes of which extend to pop stars like Katy Perry, Nicki Minaj, and more. He played Reynolds' dance double in the film and did the whole choreography to the song himself.

Talking about his involvement in the film with Collider, Ryan Reynolds gave Pauley and NSYNC their flowers for bringing the opening to life.

“[It’s] important to us too to always acknowledge the people behind this stuff. Nick Pauley, who did the choreography for the “Bye Bye Bye” dance and then making sure that NSYNC had a full and unconditional welcoming into obviously the premiere, but as to be part of some of the fun around this. In a certain sense, they’re kind of co-authors of that opening credit sequence and I think there’s a high bar for that for Deadpool movies,” said Reynolds.

Deadpool & Wolverine, directed by Shawn Levy, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, is currently playing in theaters.
