Go Down Death (2013) Director Aaron Schimberg's new film titled A Different Man is all set to arrive on the big screens on October 4, 2024. Schimberg is also the author of the film's script. The movie is a comedy psychological thriller following the character of Edward, a disfigured-faced individual.

A Different Man is produced collectively by Christine Vachon, Gabriel Mayers, and Vanessa McDonnell. The film stars Adam Pearson and Sebastian Stan in lead roles, among others.

The movie debuted at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. Following its screening, the movie received a 75% Metacritic Rating and a 7.3/10 IMDb rating before its theatrical release, making it an absolute must-watch for moviegoers.

What is A Different Man all about?

Medicinal drugs help Edward, the film's protagonist, restore his looks to normal. But things don't work out well for him since he encounters Oswald, an actor. Oswald represents Edward's former self and has a face that resembles Edward's appearance before surgery. This meeting makes Edward realize that he wants his old face back.

The official synopsis of the film as per Rotten Tomatoes reads as -

"Aspiring actor Edward undergoes a radical medical procedure to drastically transform his appearance. But his new dream face quickly turns into a nightmare, as he loses out on the role he was born to play and becomes obsessed with reclaiming what was lost."

The trailer for A Different Man was released on July 16, 2024, via the A24 YouTube channel. It features Edward, who is mistreated due to his unique and lumpy face. Even after visiting the doctor and being prescribed medication to treat his facial condition, he doesn't seem to be content after the cure. As shown in the trailer, he may be dissatisfied with the altered reflection of himself in the mirror.

Edward used to believe that his damaged face was the source of all his difficulties, but as the trailer makes clear, his issues persisted even after he had a normal face. Among the chaos and competitiveness, he fails to accept his new identity.

Who stars in A Different Man?

Sebastian Stan stars as Edward in this film. Stan is also a Marvel actor who has previously played the role of Bucky Barnes for the MCU. He has played numerous roles in movies and shows, including Captain America: The Winter Soldier ( 2014), Gossip Girl (2007-2012), and The 355 (2022), among others.

In addition to Sebastian, Adam Pearson plays the character Oswald in A Different Man. Oswald is an actor who plays Edward's life before surgery in a future movie, in the film. Adam Pearson was perfect for this role as he suffers from neurofibromatosis and has played similar roles in films and shows, including - Chained for Life (2018), The Ugly Face of Disability Hate Crime (2015), and more.

Alongside Pearson and Stan, this A24 film also stars Renate Reinsive in the role of Ingrid, Liana Runcie in the role of Fiona, and Owen Cline as Nick, among several others.

Talking about the character of Oswald and his life as an actor, Adam Pearson revealed to PEOPLE in an interview on September 17, 2024, that -
