Ali Fumiko from Find Me Falling is half-Japanese
Ali Fumiko from Find Me Falling is the daughter of Ken Whitney and Elizabeth Reiko Kubota Whitney. She was introduced to acting thanks to her mother, who used to take Ali to Broadway shows. Ali Fumiko would go on to pursue an acting career in earnest by enrolling at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
In a March 2022 interview with Naluda Magazine, Ali went into further detail about her ethnic background. According to a March 2022 interview with Medium, Ali Fumiko is also passionate about Asian cuisine, as her cultural background has given her an appreciation for Asian food. However, due to her gluten allergy, she makes sure everything she makes is gluten-free as well.
Ali Fumiko from Find Me Falling advocates for representation and mental health
Ali Fumiko has pushed for increased representation of Asian-American voices in Hollywood. As she said to Medium:
"What we see on screen should reflect what we see in real life. Kids from all different walks of life should see themselves represented."
She's also been very open about her struggles with mental health. She stated the importance of having a self-care routine and cultivating a resilient mindset, to withstand the uncertainties of the acting profession. As she said to Medium:
"In a career, where so much is not in your control it can be easy to feel anxious. Setting daily habits and forming routines like working out, cooking, etc. will help you feel a sense of control over your life."
In fact, the topic of mental health ties into her role in Find Me Falling, as the film deals with sensitive subjects such as su**de and parental abandonment.
