The Divergent series, written by Veronica Roth which was adapted into a successful movie series, has many diverse characters whose stories are all intertwined. Caleb Prior, played by Ansel Elgort, is a significant and complicated character in the Divergent books.

In Divergent, we follow the tale of Tris, a divergent who doesn't quite fit into any of the virtue-based factions in her dystopian world. Her brother Caleb starts as the ideal candidate for the selfless Abnegation faction, but as the story unfolds, a different side to him comes to light.

It is to be noted that Caleb does not die in the Divergent movie series. He was sentenced to death for betraying Tris and siding with Jeanine, but luckily Four stepped in and saved him, following Tris' wishes. However, Caleb's actions have messed up his relationships with his loved ones.

What happens to Caleb in Divergent movie series?

One of the big questions about Caleb Prior in the Divergent series is whether he bites the dust. Throughout the books, Caleb gets into some hairy situations, mostly because he can't seem to stick with one side and the world he's in is a minefield. His choices, which are usually a mix of being scared, wanting to be loyal, and trying to learn more, keep him in danger.

In Divergent, Caleb decides to switch from Abnegation to Erudite, which kicks off a series of events that eventually lead to him getting caught up in some shady issues with the faction.

Even though he makes some bad choices, Caleb manages to make it through in the first part of the series. It starts with his Choosing Ceremony, where he shows his true colors as a curious bookworm, fitting right in with the Erudite crew.

In Insurgent, Caleb keeps on living despite the consequences of his choices. Joining forces with Jeanine Matthews and the Erudite faction puts him in some risky situations. He runs away with the factionless at first and then teams up with Marcus Eaton.

But when Tris sacrifices herself for the Dauntless, Caleb's betrayal comes to light. Even though he's in a tough spot, he manages to stay alive thanks to some smart alliances and lucky breaks.

In Allegiant, Caleb goes through a tough time. At first, he's in trouble for supporting Erudite and almost gets killed. Luckily, Tobias steps in and saves him from jail, making it look like Caleb's been executed.

Despite all the dangers, Caleb manages to make it through some close calls, including a risky mission. He's willing to risk it all to make up for his past mistakes. As mentioned, Caleb doesn't die in the Divergent movie series, but he faces danger and learns about himself along the way.

What was Caleb's test result in Divergent?

The aptitude test decides which faction they belong to and shapes their future. For Caleb Prior, the test gives some interesting clues about his personality and the decisions he makes. His results show he's leaning towards Erudite, the faction all about smarts and logic. It makes sense, considering how smart and curious he is.

Even though Caleb grew up in a selfless Abnegation household, his natural tendencies lean towards the values of Erudite. Before the Choosing Ceremony, he suggests to his sister, Beatrice or Tris, that she could transfer if she's feeling the same way.

This moment is key in getting to know Caleb better. His choice to move to Erudite after the test shows that he's all about expanding his mind and making a positive impact on society through knowledge.

This choice sets off a chain of events like Caleb getting mixed up with Jeanine Matthews and causing some drama. Then his test results and the decision to join Erudite put a strain on his relationship with Tris, who goes off and joins Dauntless. Their different values and priorities start to show as they go their separate ways in the series.

The movie series is available to watch on Netflix, Stan, and rent or buy on Apple TV, Google Play, and Vudu.
