“What in the ps3 graphics is this": Fans react as Venom: The Last Dance TV spot reveals Venom frog

On October 10, 2024, multiple X (formerly Twitter) pages and YouTube channels released footage of the Venom frog from the upcoming Venom: The Last Dance movie. In a clip posted by YouTube channel ClipMania01, Venom is seen taking over a fish and then a frog.

The footage was posted to multiple social media platforms and garnered a lot of attention. Internet users were quick to express their opinions on the same and took to X to do so.

Commenting on the still of the Venom frog, an X user commented:

Who is Venom Frog? More details about the character explored

The first Venom film was released in October 2018, and since then the franchise has garnered a lot of popularity among fans of the Marvel movie franchise. A character of Marvel Comics, Venom is an alien symbiote that survives by bonding with a host.

The alien symbiote was first introduced as a living alien costume in The Amazing Spider-Man comic #252 in May 1984 and the character made a full appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man #300 in May 1988.

In the recently released TV spot for the third instalment of Venom, Sony Pictures has given fans a glimpse of the Venom Frog and Venom fish apart from the Venom horse that already garnered a lot of traction on the internet. The introductory still of the Venom frog in the footage states:

"It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a fish, a frog, a horse... it's venom"

According to the Marvel Phase 5 website, the frog is also known as the "Throg" or "Frog of Thunder" in the Marvel comics. The website compared the frog to the character of Thor stating that it wielded a mini version of Thor's hammer Mjolnir after being transformed into a frog.

Moreover, in some comic iterations, the alien symbiote bonds with the amphibious creature giving readers the Venomized Frog. As per the website, the frog makes its live-action debut as an important and comedic character in Venom: The Last Dance.

The Marvel Phase 5 website also states that the character of the symbiote frog at a pivotal point in the movie wherein Eddie and Venom would be cornered by their enemies including the antagonist of the upcoming instalment Knull. Just when it seems as if Venom and Eddie don't have a way out, the frog makes an appearance joining the fight.
