In August 2015, Chris Evans and Anthony Mackie attended the D23 Expo held in Anaheim, California. During the event, they presented unreleased footage of their film, Captain America: Civil War, which was released on May 6, 2016.
During an interview later in the day, the duo was asked which Disney Princess they would like to be. Mackie's quick wit was on full display when he responded:
"Cinderella, cuz she broke homie. She represents me Yo!"
He then turned to Chris, who broke into laughter and said:
"Let me borrow $20."
On hearing the last part, Evans almost fell off his chair. The camaraderie between the two Avengers came out beautifully in this throwback video. Chris and Mackie played well off of each other and it made them a great team during interviews. Fans loved their fun banter in this video as it left them in splits as much as the two actors.
Moreover, Chris Evans is a confessed Disney fan. In the same interview, the Knives Out actor revealed that the Disney character he most relates to is Belle from Beauty and the Beast. He went on to explain his choice by saying:
"She’s educated, she wants to read. She’s not really taken by — Gaston’s ‘the guy,’ but she doesn’t care. I'm Belle."
Mackie agreed with his co-star that Belle is "really strong and focused in what she wants."
