The highly anticipated third installment in the Culpables movie series, Culpa Nuestra (English: Our Fault), is set to wrap up the love story between Nick and Noah. Based on Mercedes Ron's bestselling young adult trilogy, the movie continues to follow the couple as they confront new challenges in their relationship. Fans are eager to see how the story unfolds, especially after the dramatic events in Culpa Tuya (2024), the second film in the series.

Culpa Nuestra (Our Fault) was filmed back-to-back with Your Fault in Madrid, with production officially finishing in February 2024. Directed by Domingo González and produced by Banijay Iberia's Pokeepsie Films along with Amazon MGM Studios, the movie promises to deliver more romance, drama, and emotional twists. While the exact release date has yet to be confirmed, the film is expected to hit Amazon Prime Video sometime in 2025.

With the third movie, Culpa Nuestra, already in post-production, excitement is building among fans hoping to answer the lingering questions about Nick and Noah’s future. More details about the release are expected soon.

The third and final chapter in the Culpables trilogy, Culpa Nuestra (Our Fault), is expected to hit Prime Video in 2025. While fans are still waiting for a confirmed release date, writer-director Domingo González has already called it the "best" installment in the series. In an interview with Deadline on December 26, 2024, González said,

“When you have success with a first movie, the second one is often not as good, and then the third one even less so. In this case, people are saying that the second one is better than the first, and everybody that has seen the third movie says that it is the best of the three.”

Shot back-to-back with its predecessor Culpa Tuya, González explained that this approach allowed the cast and crew to keep the energy and chemistry intact without losing momentum between films.

The Culpables trilogy, based on the bestselling books by Mercedes Ron, has turned into a global phenomenon. The first film, Culpa Mía (My Fault), premiered in 2023 and quickly became Prime Video’s most-watched international original movie, landing in the top 10 in over 190 countries, including the U.S., U.K., Australia, and India.

“Yes, we expected to have that success in Spain, and I wanted to have success abroad; I thought it was going to be big in Mexico maybe, but not all around the world, in India, in Indonesia, Pakistan, Korea, everywhere. That was unexpected,” he explained.

Its success set the stage for the sequels produced by Pokeepsie Films, a division of Banijay Iberia, along with Amazon MGM Studios. González co-wrote the scripts for the second and third movies with Sofía Cuenca, completing them before the first movie was released.

This strategy helped the trilogy stay consistent while addressing fan feedback from the earlier books. González admitted the team had to tweak parts of the Culpa Tuya script after readers voiced strong opinions online.

“On the internet and TikTok and our Instagram, they were saying: ‘We don’t want to see that. Please, please, don’t show that,’” he said. “So, we had to deal with that part of the story in another way.”

Much like the books, the films focus on intense emotions, complicated relationships, and the struggles of growing up. González wanted the dialogue to feel natural and relatable, steering clear of clichés often found in young adult dramas.

“When people think of a YA movie, they sometimes think that young people are stupid. So, I wanted to have something a little more clever,” he said. “This is a very clever generation. I treat them with respect.”

The final installment, Culpa Nuestra, promises to raise the stakes even further. With Nick and Noah now facing more adult challenges, González hinted at deeper emotional conflicts and moments of self-discovery. He also emphasized that humor and fun will still be a big part of the story, even as the characters deal with heavier topics.
