On March 2, 2024, Sydney Sweeney hosted Saturday Night Live (SNL). She addressed rumours about having an affair with her co-star Glenn Powell during the filming of Anyone But You (2023), among other things in her opening monologue.
She said:
"But I'd say the craziest rumour I've seen is that, while I was filming Anyone But You, I was having an affair with my co-star Glenn Powell. That's obviously not true. Me and my fiance produced the movie together and he was there the entire shoot."
For the unversed, Sydney Sweeney has been engaged to her fiance Jonathan Davino since 2022. In an interview for Glamour UK in December 2023, Sweeney mentioned that he is a businessman from Chicago, and the two have collaborated to produce many of her film projects.

"And I just want to let everyone know that he is the man of my dreams, and we're still together and stronger than ever. He even came here tonight to support me, can we cut to him?"
In a humourous moment after the monologue, the camera cut to Glenn Powell in the audience. This left the in-house audience in splits of laughter, and the clip took the internet by storm in early 2024.
What role does Sydney Sweeney play in Anyone But You?
Anyone but You is an American romantic comedy that was released in theatres in 2023. The film has been directed by Will Gluck, who also co-wrote the screenplay with writer Ilana Wolpert. The storyline is loosely based on William Shakespeare's popular play Much Ado About Nothing.
