What is Twisters all about? Plot synopsis and trailer
Twisters is a sequel to the 1996 disaster film Twister, directed by Jan de Bont. The movie is a present-day perspective of the original movie, which took place in the 90s, with flashbacks going back to the 60s.
Twisters 2024 follows Kate Carter, a meteorologist doing tornado mobile radar for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. Five years ago, Carter was a storm chaser and had lost three of her friends in a research accident.
After the traumatic event, she left that dangerous world to study tornados from the safety of her life in New York. However, when her friend Javi brings her back to Oklahoma and introduces her to internet celebrity and YouTube storm chaser, Tyler Owens, Kate finds herself pulled back into a world she thought she had left for good.
The movie features some intense scenes and has been rated PG-13 for “intense action and peril, strong language and injury images.” With a runtime of 122 minutes, the disaster movie is a must-watch for fans who missed catching it in theaters. Watch the trailer here.
