The exact location of the 200 demons house from The Deliverance
The 200 demons house of the film The Deliverance was located at 3860 Carolina Street in Gary, Indiana before it was demolished due to high levels of supernatural activity. Although the house no longer stands on the site, the land it was built on remains. Several tourists interested in seeing this infamous location travel there to experience the eerie place firsthand.
When the real-life events depicted in the film occurred, Gary was one of the few places in Indiana known for its reputation as the center of extreme paranormal activity. However, Latoya Ammons, who moved to the property in November 2011 with her mother and three children was unaware of this.
While living in the building, Ammons reported experiencing severe paranormal activities, including swarms of black flies and shadow-like figures walking around the house. She also mentioned that her children were behaving unusually, making strange noises, and being thrown around the room after being lifted from their beds.
Others who inspected the house, including a family physician and an exorcist, reported similar experiences. This further solidified Ammons's claims.
However, psychologists suggested that the incidents indicated Ammons' severe mental health issues and her children's need for validation from their mother. They believed this need led the children to act in ways that would convince them of supernatural intervention.
Why did the 200 demons house get demolished?
The 200 demons house that inspired The Deliverance was demolished two years after paranormal researcher Zak Bagans acquired it in 2014. In an email to the Indystar, Bagans claimed that he and his crew had experienced a range of abnormal activities while investigating the place, including temporary and permanent health damage.
He also mentioned that he was compelled to make the decision to prevent any further damage to the crew, future inhabitants of the place, and the people residing in the surrounding regions.
