Written by Victor Miller and produced and directed by Sean S. Cunningham, Friday the 13th was released in the United States on May 9, 1980. The independent slasher film starred Betsy Palmer, Adrienne King, Harry Crosby and Laurie Bartram. Mark Nelson, Jeannine Taylor, Robbi Morgan and Kevin Bacon also features in the multi-starrer film.
The plot of Friday the 13th chronicled the mysterious deaths of a group of counsellors attempting to reopen a once famous summer camp that got shut due to unforeseen circumstances in the past.
Due to the ominous setting of the movie, a big portion of Friday the 13th was shot in and around New Jersey, in line with the film's storyline. Filming occurred in locations like Blairstown, New Jersey; Walnut Street, Hope, New Jersey; and Moravian Cemetery, Hope, New Jersey.
Parts of the movie involving the fictional Crystal Lake camp were filmed at Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco in Blairstown, New Jersey.

1) No-Be-Bo-Sco, Blairstown, New Jersey
Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco in Blairstown, New Jersey was one the most used locations in Friday the 13th. The camp served as the perfect spot for the fictional Crystal Lake camp depicted in the film, where all the atrocities, including the killing of the counsellors, take place.
Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco is set on approximately 380 acres of land in New Jersey's Kittatinny Mountains and has been operating since 1927 offering their services to hundreds of scouts over the years.

2) Blairstown, New Jersey
Several scenes depicted at the beginning of the movie were filmed in Blairstown, New Jersey. A particular scene involving Annie where she's talking to a dog near a couple of gas pumps takes place in a film set in Blairstown, New Jersey.
Besides the set, some of the location's naturally occurring surroundings were also used in the film. Blairstown, in Warren County, New Jersey boasts a picturesque view partly owing to its township's location in the Kittatinny Valley, a part of the Great Appalachian Valley.

Another location that was used at the beginning of Friday the 13th is Walnut Street, Hope, New Jersey.
While on her way to Crystal Lake camp along with her fellow traveller, Annie crosses paths with a strange man who goes by the name Crazy Ralph. The location at which Annie meets the man is Walnut Street in Hope, New Jersey.
Hope enjoys a historic status owing to the historical buildings it houses, including the Moravian Church, American House Hotel, American House Annex, St. John's United Methodist Church and Moravian residences.

4) Moravian Cemetery, Hope, New Jersey
Not long after the scene involving Annie and Crazy Ralph takes place, Annie is dropped by a cemetery by his fellow truck driver.
This cemetery is the Moravian Cemetery situated in Hope, New Jersey. It's indeed an odd choice for dropping someone, but it serves a bigger purpose in the wider scheme of things.
Moravian Cemetery in Hope New Jersey boasts of being one of America's most beautiful burial parks. It also brags of having the most picturesque and impeccably maintained memorial sites in the tri-state area.
