Surinder Koli and Moninder Singh Pandher were found guilty of several offenses
Moninder Singh Pandher and Surinder Koli, residents of Noida, were allegedly found guilty of several murders and were subsequently arrested in 2006. In 2006, Surinder Koli confessed to murdering six children and killing a 20-year-old girl named Payal. Reportedly, he also confessed to assaulting them se*ually, before killing them. He was also allegedly accused of por*ogra*hy, necrophilia, and more.
The severed bodies of the missing children and girls were later discovered outside Moninder Singh’s residence, some buried and some disposed of in the gutters near and around Nithari.
Allegedly, Surinder Koli, who was a servant in Moninder’s home lured children inside the house by offering them gifts and later molested and killed them. Moninder was a businessman, who would stay out of the city mostly and this gave Koli the chance to conduct his crimes, as per reports.
Multiple charges were pressed against the two
As reported by the Hindustan Times, Koli also confessed to eating the flesh of his victims after killing them. Reportedly, a total of 19 cases of murder, ra*e, abduction, and many more charges were filed against the duo. However, because of insufficient evidence, a few of the charges had to be dropped in 2023.
Surinder Koli was found guilty of the ra*e and murder of Pinki Sarkar, Rimpa Halder, Rachna Lal, Deepali Sarkar, Chotti Kavita, and more. The duo was arrested in 2006 after skeletal remains were found near and around Pandher’s home as we already know.
Initially, on February 13, 2009, the duo received death sentences for the multiple murder and ra*es. In 2017, they received another death sentence and in 2022, Moninder was charged with immmoral trafficking too. However, in a retrial, Surinder Koli claimed that he did not do the killing and he confessed because the police had beaten him and taken a forced confession from him. On September 12, 2014, the death penalty was converted to a life imprisonment sentence.
The duo filed a petition and in 2023 all the charges against Moninder Singh Pandher were dropped and he was released from prison as there was not sufficient evidence to keep him in prison. Surinder Koli is still inside, serving a life sentence for his long list of crimes.
