The Man from UNCLE is a spy film written by Ritchie and Lionel Wigram and directed by Guy Ritchie. The movie is based on a 1964 television series of the same name, which was created by Norman Felton and Sam Rolfe. The film premiered in Barcelona on August 2, 2015, and was released by Warner Bros. on August 14, 2015.

The Man from UNCLE grabbed the attention of fans after it was recently released on Netflix on July 27, 2024. The movie soon became one of the top 10 movies on the film streaming list and is trending in the United States.

The Man from UNCLE was shot in different parts of Italy and England, which include some historic architecture and tourist spots.

The movie follows CIA agent Napoleon Solo and KGB agent Illya Kuryakin, who team up to stop a criminal organization from developing a nuclear weapon. In the movie, both agents infiltrate the enemy and ultimately destroy the weapon.

Locations in Italy

1) Fontana Della Barcaccia

The Man from UNCLE in Italy was shot at Fontana Della Barcaccia, which means Fountain of the Boat. It is a western fountain, located at the foot of the Spanish Steps in Spanish Square, locally called Piazza di Spagna in Rome.

2) Marcellus Theater

A night scene was shot at the Marcellus Theater, built in the closing years of the Roman Republic. The theater was used to perform plays and songs that were enjoyed by the locals and visitors.

3) Chiesa e Convento di Santa Teresa

The Convent of Santa Teresa di Caprarola and a nearby villa Farnese were also shown in The Man from UNCLE. They were used to depict the Vinciguerra estate. The complex was built between 1621 and 1623 and is dedicated to St. Mary and St. Sylvester.

4) Gulf of Naples

Some locations in The Man from UNCLE were shot in different places in Campania. It includes a shot of some fishermen on the port of Corricella on the Island of Procida, Vivara Island to depict Victoria and Alexander Vinciguerra Island, and Castle dell'Ovo, the oldest castle in Naples.

1) Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich

The scene of The Wartburg vs. Trabant car chase scene in The Man from UNCLE was shot at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, London. It is an architectural attraction and a world heritage site of Maritime Greenwich.

2) Goodwood Motor Racing Circuit in West Sussex, UK

Goodwood Circuit is 2.367 miles (3.809 km) and is known for both two-wheeler and four-wheeler motorsport in the United Kingdom. There are two different circuits: one is on the planes and the other is a hill climb course located at Goodwood House.

3) The Regent's Park in London

The set of Cafe Gustav and the bathhouse in Berlin were built at Regent’s Park in London. Regent’s Park is one of the Royal Parks of London, situated on 410 acres of land. The area contains private and public organizations, including Regent’s University and London Zoo.
