The Witches of Eastwick is a 1984 film directed by George Miller, which is based on John Updike's novel of the same name. A blending of humour and supernatural elements, the movie tells the story of three friends Alexandra, Jane and Sukie, who are completely unaware that they are witches. All three friends have either lost, divorced or been abandoned by their partners.

The three friends living in the sleepy town of Eastwick, Rhode Island meet every week, to discuss their potential prospects and the man of their dreams. By doing this, they unwittingly form a coven, which invites a stranger into the town, who doesn't belong to this world.

In the novel, the story was set in Rhode Island during the 1970s, but Miller takes the movie adaptation to the 1980s. Originally, the movie was set to be filmed in the coastal town of Little Compton, Rhode Island. However, after a controversy that involved the Congregational church present there, the shooting location was changed primarily to Massachusetts.

To create the supernatural ambience of the sleepy town of Eastwick, the team resorted to shooting most parts of the movie, in the town of Cohasset because of its heritage of old architecture. The New England Church serves as a very crucial part of The Witches of Eastwick, which was shot in the First Parish Meeting House.

The heritage building was built in 1746 and stands as one of the primary attractions of the town. The town of Cohasset is notable for its history, being one of the very first indigenous and colonial settlements dating back to 1670.

2) Wang Theatre and Milton Academy

Daryle Van Horne, the mysterious stranger comes to the town of Eastwick and buys the largest property there, the Lenox Mansion. Many of the interior scenes of the mansion were shot in the Wang Theatre and Milton Theatre to portray the antiquity and spaciousness of Daryle's property.

The Wang Theatre later named the Music Hall, is a Metropolitan Theatre in Boston designed by Clarence Blackall, which was first opened in 1925. The Milton Academy was used to shoot the scene, where the witches make voodoo dolls. This coeducational day school dates back to the 1700s.

3) Crane Estate, Castle Hill, Ipswich

The Crane Estate on Castle Hill stands as what went on to become the mysterious Lenox Mansion in The Witches of Eastwick. Most of the major supernatural activities take place in this mansion, which later becomes the residence of the three sisters.
