It will delve into the Child's Play franchise, which introduced the character, as well as some of the people who were associated with the films, including Don Mancini, Brad Dourif and Jennifer Tilly.

How did the film come to be made?
During a conversation with Pop Horror, the director of Doc of Chucky, Thommy Hutson, shared how the entire project was developed. He explained that the idea first came to him quite early, even before it could be realized. He said:
"This actually came to me. Someone came to me in 2017 and said, “Hey, what about doing something on Child’s Play?” It wasn’t the right time. I wish I could say something really dynamic. I remember it not working, it just wasn’t right for me at the time. So it didn’t happen and I ended up doing some other things."
He continued:
"And then Michael Perez and I, the executive producer who we’ve worked together on other things, we started just talking about, “Well, what do we want to do next? We’re running out of franchises.” And that’s when we were like, “OK, do we really start thinking seriously about Child’s Play?”
He disclosed that after they made the decision to proceed with the project, they pitched the idea to others they wanted to involve. He also shared how astonished they were to discover that everyone they approached shared their enthusiasm for the project. As a result, they began working on the documentary film, taking one small step at a time and progressing continually until it was fully finished.
