The creators of Smile 2 have introduced a highly innovative approach to allow more people to experience a segment of the newly released movie. On November 4, 2024, Variety announced that Paramount made the first seven minutes of the film available on a dedicated Smile 2 website that they launched on Halloween.

They also disclosed that viewers must adhere to a strict code of conduct while watching the initial moments of the film. The requirement is that participants need to turn on their cameras and maintain a smile throughout the span of the seven-minute clip.

If at any point the viewers stop smiling, the cameras will detect it, causing the video to pause. It will resume only when the viewers begin to smile again.

The creators of Smile 2 have introduced an innovative marketing approach that enables viewers to watch the initial minutes of the film from their homes.

As mentioned earlier, on Halloween, Paramount Pictures set up an official webpage for the movie, which provided access to the first seven minutes of the film, with the condition that viewers maintain a smile throughout the entire duration of the clip.

Those who have already visited the site have shared their enthusiasm for this initiative and have taken to social media to talk about it. Discussions about this unique phenomenon are actively happening on Reddit.

"I have loved all of the marketing for both Smile movies. I'm fairly certain their marketing folks have enjoyed making it all happen, too," writes one user on the platform.
"This is so stupid, funny, creepy, and cool. I love it," writes another user.
"That’s a next-level commitment! Imagine holding a creepy grin for 7 minutes straight just to watch a horror movie preview... seems like they’re testing us to see who’s truly dedicated (or just a little unhinged). Wonder how many people made it through without cracking up or giving themselves the heebie-jeebies!, another user also writes.

The movie tells the story of pop star Skye Riley, played by Naomi Scott, who is preparing for a world tour. However, her life takes a turn when a close acquaintance suddenly passes away, setting off a series of tragic events that lead to injuries and deaths, causing her major emotional and physical distress.

She must find a way to prevent these tragedies, but there is only one solution that requires her to make a personal sacrifice. The question is, will she be willing to take that step to save others from the horrors that are currently consuming her? Audiences will need to watch the film to find the answer.

The official logline for the movie highlights this aspect of the film. It reads:

"About to embark on a new world tour, global pop sensation Skye Riley (Naomi Scott) begins experiencing increasingly terrifying and inexplicable events. Overwhelmed by the escalating horrors and the pressures of fame, Skye is forced to face her dark past to regain control of her life before it spirals out of control."
