Plot of Polar Opposites

Polar Opposites is the story of Emma, a courtroom sketch artist, who goes on an emotional trip to Antarctica after getting a crazy call from her penguin researcher father, Ian Rivera. Emma leaves her everyday life to find Ian because she thinks he is in danger.

In Buenos Aires, she tries to get on a research ship to Antarctica but is turned away because she doesn't have the proper paperwork. Emma is desperate, so she sneaks onto the ship of another research team and meets Andy, who is in charge of the group as an engineer.

Emma gets on board by pretending to be a member of the crew. Andy finds out about her secret in the end, even though she hides in a linen closet. When he finds out why she wants to avoid the ship's captain, he reluctantly agrees to help her.

Peg, the station manager, tells Emma that Ian is missing when she gets to Antarctica. With Andy's help, Emma looks for her father and eventually finds him safe but busy with a strange emergency: a penguin named Lola is stuck on a drifting ice chunk and could be eaten by animals.

Ian has been deeply involved in his research and has been trying to save Lola without success. Andy uses his engineering skills to make a device that saves Lola and brings her back to Hugo, her mate.

At the end of the movie, Andy confesses that he wants to be a part of Emma's life after their Antarctic adventure.
