Two months after Venom: The Last Dance debuted in theaters, the comic book antihero is set to arrive on digital streaming soon. This marks the third time Tom Hardy has portrayed the titular role on the big screen, and the film continues to be a Marvel hit.
Although the film holds a 41% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, it appears to be much more popular among viewers, boasting an 81% audience score. This rating is only a few percent short of the 84% audience rating for the second installment, Venom: Let There Be Carnage.
As of Sunday, December 8, the third and final installment of the Venom trilogy has reached $139 million at the domestic box office, per Box Office Mojo. It has also earned $333 million internationally, adding up to $473 million worldwide. Currently, it ranks #8 on the top-earning films of 2024 list.
The news comes just days before Venom: The Last Dance is set to make its digital streaming debut on December 10, only on premium video on demand (PVOD). It is not yet available to watch on any streaming platform.
Where to watch Venom: The Last Dance online?
Those who missed watching Venom: The Last Dance in theaters or those who want to rewatch the film at home can watch out for its scheduled digital streaming release on Tuesday, December 10. It will be debuting via premium video on demand.
Venom: The Last Dance follows other major Sony Pictures releases this year, like Madame Web, Anyone But You, and It Ends With Us, which typically have a 30-60-day theater-to-digital release window.
When the film debuts on digital on Tuesday, interested viewers will be able to rent it for around $19.99, with a 48-hour rental period, on platforms such as Prime Video, VUDU, and Apple TV. It will also be available for purchase for $24.99 on the same platforms.
When will Venom: The Last Dance arrive on streaming platforms?
So far, there is no confirmed streaming release date for Venom: The Last Dance. Typically, streaming debuts follow the films' release on digital platforms, and the date largely depends on whether the movie is successful in theaters and is getting decent digital purchases or not. Major releases from Sony Pictures this year haven't been consistent with its theatrical-to-streaming release windows.
For example, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire was released in cinemas on March 22, 2024, and arrived on Netflix 76 days later, on July 22. Meanwhile, Madame Web, which made a theatrical debut on February 14, took a little longer to drop on Netflix, around 90 days on May 14.
That said, Venom's third installment could be available for streaming sometime in early 2025. If it does get a streaming release, it will first be available on Netflix. The film will be streaming on Netflix for around 18 months before being added to Disney's movie library and/or Hulu. This means that with an 18-month exclusive window on Netflix, it would be arriving on Disney+ around the summer of 2026.
Catch Venom: The Last Dance for rent and purchase on digital platforms like Prime Video, VUDU, and Apple TV starting December 10. Besides Hardy, the film stars Juno Temple, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rhys Ifans, and Alanna Ubach, with Kelly Marcel returning as director.
