British actor Nicholas Galitzine is set to take on the role of He-Man in the upcoming film Masters of the Universe. The film is based on Mattel's popular toy line, which inspired the animated series from 1983 to 1985, and a film in 1987. The upcoming movie, starring Galitzine, is set to be released on June 5, 2025, and will be directed by Travis Knight with Chris Butler as the writer.
Nicholas Galitzine was recently seen in The Idea of You with Anne Hathaway. He was also a part of Red, White, and Royal Blue (2023), Purple Hearts (2022), and Cinderella (2021).
Before Nicholas Galitzine took up the role of He-Man, other actors like Kyle Allen, Kellan Lutz, and Noah Centineo were tapped for the role. Todd Black, Steve Tisch, and Jason Blumenthal will produce the movie, along with Mattel Films president Robbie Berner.

The film has been in development for a long time and has gone from Sony to Netflix to Amazon MGM. It also had several stars attached to it before the director and actor were fixed.

Masters of the Universe, with Kyle Allen starring as He-Man, was supposed to arrive on Netflix until they decided to drop the project last summer. By then, the streaming company had spent over $30 million on its development in over two years. Netflix dropped this movie because of budget concerns.
However, after Netflix dropped this project, Masters of the Universe found its new home at Amazon MGM Studios.

The film follows 10-year-old Prince Adam, who crashes to Earth in a spaceship. He is separated from his mystical power sword, which is his only link to his home in Eternia.
Masters of the Universe is all set to be released on June 5, 2026.
