Charles Cyphers accumulated a huge fanbase for his performance in Halloween

The Niagara Falls, New York native was active in the film industry since the 70s. While Charles Cyphers had many credits under his name, he was known for his appearance as Sheriff Leigh Brackett in the popular slasher film, Halloween. The character served in Haddonfield, Illinois, and was the father of a daughter named Annie.

He arrived at Nichol's Hardware Store after receiving a call about a break-in on the night of October 31, 1978, and although he believed that a few items were stolen, he met Doctor Samuel Loomis who gave him details about the perpetrator.

Loomis revealed the perpetrator was Michael Myers and they joined each other to check out the abandoned Myers house. Although Brackett did not take Samuel's words seriously at first, he started believing after his daughter was murdered by Michael Myers.
