Wolfs is a dynamic action-comedy that reunites two of Hollywood’s biggest stars, George Clooney and Brad Pitt. This film marks their first on-screen collaboration in starring roles since the iconic Burn After Reading in 2008, sparking excitement among fans of the duo who fondly remember their chemistry from the Ocean's trilogy.

Directed by Jon Watts, Wolfs is to be expected to be a major draw in theaters, with its plot and ensemble cast.

The official synopsis of the movie reads:

"A professional fixer is hired to cover up a high-profile crime. But when a second fixer shows up and the two "lone wolves" are forced to work together, they find their night spiraling out of control in ways that neither one of them expected."

Exploring the release date for Wolfs

Wolfs is scheduled to come out in the United States theatres on September 20, 2024, with a special one week theatrical screening then getting a direct digital release. The film will also be available on Apple TV+ from September 27, 2024.

This strategy not only maximizes its exposure across different platforms but also converges with the new distribution models aimed at both cinema and home viewing. The September release preps the film to be seen in various fall film festivals, thus increasing its visibility during the Oscar season.

In 2021, upon acquiring the film, Apple set its sights on a broad theatrical release, and by December 2023, a partnership with Sony Pictures Releasing was solidified. This collaboration, following their previous joint venture on Napoleon, designated Sony to handle the film's distribution in cinemas across the United States, with an established release date of September 20, 2024.

However, the release strategy took a significant turn in August 2024, just six weeks prior to its scheduled debut. Apple shifted gears from a wide to a limited release on the same date, a strategic pivot influenced by concerns over potential box office performance.

This decision came despite Sony's readiness to launch a substantial marketing campaign during the Paris Olympics in 2024. This change was driven by Apple executives, including Zack Van Amburg, who opted to scale back to mitigate the risks associated with a potentially underwhelming box office return.

In response to this adjustment, Clooney highlighted the personal financial sacrifices he and Pitt made to preserve the film's limited theatrical release.
