Y2K is a science fiction horror comedy movie directed by American actor, writer, and comedian Kyle Mooney, based on the year 2000 problem. This is a computer bug, also known as Y2K, which shares the central theme in the movie. The movie is written by Monney, in collaboration with Evan Writer.

The story begins right on 1999 New Year's Eve when a group of high school students. While at a party, they find themselves under a deadly threat, when all the machines around them malfunction. Due to the Y2K bug, all the electronics start a deadly rampage of killing human beings.

The soundtrack of Y2K is heavily inspired by pop music from the late 1990s and early 2000s. The soundtrack in the movie is primarily headed by contemporary music composer Danny Bensi in collaboration with Saynder Jurrainns.

What is the plot of Y2K?

The story of Y2K begins on New Year's Eve of 1999 when a group of high school students crashes a party. Eli, playing the leading character has feelings for his classmate Laura. However, he feels it is very difficult to express his feelings since Laura already has a boyfriend named Soccer Chris, the party's host. However, the seemingly fun midnight party turns on a grave note when suddenly all the machines in the house begin to malfunction.

All the computers inside the machines are bugged by Amalgamation, a lethal algorithm. This virus soon begins to take control over every machine, ordering them to butcher every human being. This bug soon spreads across the globe, and Eli and Laura get the responsibility to shut it down before it ends the world.
