Taylor Swift kicked off the Ireland leg of her Eras Tour on June 28, 2024, at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin. The Shake It Off singer is set to play in Ireland for three nights till June 30, 2024.

As a gesture of welcoming the singer to Ireland, a 109-yard-long installation reading "Ireland (Taylor's Version) was created, laid out, and shot on a Dublin beach at sunrise time. The sign was commissioned by Today FM in collaboration with Mack Signs and it took a team of seven people to create the sign in a week.

Spanning 100 meters in width, the sign is as large as the length of two Olympic swimming pools.

The last time Swift played in Ireland was in 2018 wherein she performed for two nights at the Croke Park during her Reputation world tour.

"I have a bone to pick with Taylor Swift": Irish politician Simon Harris comments on singer's arrival to Ireland

About 50,000 fans are expected to witness Taylor Swift's Eras Tour for each of the three nights in Ireland and the stadium is packed with the singer's merchandise for fans to avail of.

The Bridge Pub near the Aviva Stadium has also announced a list of Swift's album-themed cocktails to celebrate the singer's arrival. Additionally, Dublin is buzzing with quizzes on Swift, spin classes with her music, bracelet-making classes, and brunches themed on the Fortnight singer.

In the anticipation and excitement surrounding Swift's arrival to Ireland, Irish politician Taoiseach Simon Harris told The Irish Mirror on June 28, 2024, that he won't be attending any of the gigs over the weekend but would like an opportunity to meet the singer to sort out an issue.

The Taoiseach and leader of Fine Gael told the publication:

"I have a bone to pick with Taylor Swift, actually,"

Talking about the same, Simon Harris mentioned that he is delighted to have her in Ireland and the issue he has with her is that she took a pebble from a beach in Greystones which she sings about in her song Sweet Nothing.

The song, co-written by Swift's alleged ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn, mentions how the duo picked up a pebble from a beach in Wicklow- a country in Ireland where Joe Alwyn filmed his series Conversations With Friends.

Joking about the pebble, Simon Haris told the publication:

"Greystones being my hometown, I'm very pleased that Taylor enjoys Wicklow. But I’d like my pebble back."

Additionally, the politician did mention that he was joking and would like to "know a little bit more" about the pebble-picking instance Swift has mentioned in her song.

He also added that while Swift won't have the time to visit Wicklow this time, she's welcome and that Simon would be delighted to show her more locations and pebbles in the town of Greystones.

The 109-yard-long sign installation on a Dublin beach wasn't the only welcome Taylor Swift received before starting off the Ireland leg of her Eras Tour. On June 28, the Blank Space singer took to Instagram stories to showcase a bouquet sent by the Irish band, U2.

The note with the bouquet read:

“Dear Taylor, welcome back to our hometown…leave some of it standing?!!!!” the legendary musicians wrote. Your Irish fan club, Bono, Edge, Adam and Larry.”

Taylor Swift captioned the story calling U2 the "classiest and coolest", mentioning she was already feeling the "Irish hospitality".
