Kendrick Lamar is currently trending after he took to social media on September 9, 2024, to announce that he will be headlining the Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show next year.
The announcement came in the form of a promotional video shot of Kendrick at a football practice session standing against the backdrop of a large American Flag. The rapper speaks to the camera, confirming that he will perform at the 2025 Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show.
"What the deal everybody? My name Kendrick Lamar and I'll be performing at Super Bowl 59. Will you be pullin' up? I hope so... You know there's only one opportunity to win the championship. No round 2's." - Kendrick Lamar stated in his announcement video.
This is Kendrick's first public announcement since his extremely viral and highly appreciated "Ken and Friends: Pop Out Concert". The show was held in Compton in June, eventually leading to him dropping the official music video for his final diss track against Drake, Not Like Us, in July.
"I won’t want you to miss it. Meet me in New Orleans. February 9, 2025. Wear your best dress, too, even if you watch it from home." - Kendrick concludes.
Kendrick Lamar's potential set list for his upcoming Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show
Besides the "headlining" reveal, the announcement did not reveal any information about the set, guest list, or other information regarding Kendrick Lamar's performance at the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show.
Fans have taken to social media platforms like X and Instagram to share their thoughts and opinions on which tracks from Kendrick's discography will make it on the final set list for his upcoming performance.
Super Bowl Halftime shows are considered one of the biggest stages an artist can perform at, with this year's performance back in February, headlined by Usher. The singer performed his set in front of 123 million viewers at the sold-out Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Here is a list of records that fans and audiences could potentially see being performed live in New Orleans on February 9, 2025.
