1) As a kid, Camila couldn’t dance at all

When Camila Cabello was younger, she couldn’t dance. According to a Toronto.com article dated November 6, 2017, the former Fifth Harmony star acknowledged that she was never really a dancer growing up but claimed that her music career had "pulled it out" of her.

She has been showcasing her amazing dance moves in her music videos, such as Don't Go Yet, Havana, and Bam Bam.

In the same article, it was mentioned that she was shy as a child and never danced. She even admitted that when people started dancing at holiday events, she would cry. However, she credits music for helping her come out of her shell and discover her passion for performing.


2) Mental health advocacy

Camila’s commitment to mental health is another aspect of her multifaceted personality.

The Hollywood Reporter reported on January 19, 2021, that Camila launched the Healing Justice Project, which would focus on providing frontline activists with mental health treatment, in collaboration with Movement Voter Fund, a nonprofit charity that links donations to grassroots organizations.

Camila Cabello's conversations with surgeon Nadine Burke Harris regarding "toxic stress" and with activists Ana Perez and Jerry Tello regarding racial reconciliation catalyzed her Healing Justice Project.

A February 21, 2020 Billboard article quoted her saying: 'Anyone who knows me knows that my ultimate dream is to create an inspirational playlist of Disney songs to get ready for work—how incredible would that be?'

When her family eventually got cable, Camila Cabello was overjoyed since it meant she could watch Disney Channel series and original films like Hannah Montana, High School Musical, and The Cheetah Girls.

In a February 21, 2020, 73 Questions With Camila Cabello by Vogue on YouTube, she said: "For the entire past year, before every performance, I made it a point to listen to Homecoming and watch that documentary."

To her, it felt deeply meaningful, important, and connected to humanity and what’s real in the world. According to a February 12, 2024, Billboard article, the singer revealed that Queen B's validation of her work sustained her when she felt most people “misunderstood” her latest LP.
