On October 2, 2024, 50 Cent took to Instagram to share a video compilation of Tony Yayo talking about Diddy and 50 Cent's relationship in varied interviews over the years. In the video compilation, Tony Yayo shared that he didn't have time for Diddy and that he never attended any of the Last Night rapper's parties.
Moreover, the caption of 50 Cent's post was a joking remark about not telling Tony Yayo anything that one wouldn't want everyone else to know. This seemingly hinted at how he might have wanted everyone to know that he distanced himself from the Victory rapper.
Internet users were quick to react to 50 Cent's post and took to the comment section of the post to express their opinions on the same. Complimenting 50 Cent for not being one of the celebrities who were close to Diddy, an internet user stated:
"50 was always 10 steps ahead"
Moreover, internet users commented on Tony Yayo's loyalty toward 50 Cent and appreciated the duo's friendship as well:
"But Diddy didn’t wanna take the deal ’cause of all the drama" - Tony Yayo comments on the rapper rejecting a deal with 50 Cent
50 Cent and Diddy have had a history of beef among themselves since 2006 when the former released his track, The Bomb. In the track, 50 Cent accused the I Need A Girl rapper of knowing who killed The Notorious B.I.G. in a shooting in 1997.
Since 50 Cent's track, the two rappers have engaged in a back and forth over the years, wherein Diddy used the term "hating a** crap" for 50 Cent after he became Rick Ross' manager in 2009.
In the video compilation shared by 50 Cent, Tony Yayo is seen addressing the feud between his friend and the Coming Home rapper. Quoting one of the instances of the rapper almost signing a deal, Tony mentioned in a 2022 interview:
“We had a meeting with Diddy, it was me and 50 there. He took the meeting out of respect. He had deals all over the table. I wasn’t saying he was gonna take the deal, he might have, he might have not. But Diddy didn’t wanna take the deal ’cause of all the drama, but 50 was the hottest n*gga on the planet."
Tony Yayo traced back the meeting to 1990 when 50 Cent released his track How To Rob wherein he talked about robbing the Creepin' rapper and threatened other rappers as well.
Yayo also stated that the Finna Get Loose rapper passed on signing with 50 Cent because of the drama that surrounded 50 Cent at the time.
In the video compilation, Tony Yayo mentioned that he has never been to Diddy's party or Jay-Z's brunch and though he knows those events are cool, he was always in 50 Cent's company who had "beef with everybody."
Moreover, in other news, Netflix is producing 50 Cent's docuseries pertaining to the rapper facing charges of racketeering, s*xual assault, violent abuse, and s*x trafficking.
50 Cent hasn't released other details about the project yet.
