Mega pop star, Beyoncé, enthralled her fans on Christmas day 2024, when she took over the NFL halftime show at NRG stadium, to give a stellar performance. The match between Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans was watched by millions as Netflix streamed the performance live.
What made the performance so exciting, even terming it as “Beyoncé Bowl”, was that the singer was performing many songs from her country album Cowboy Carter live for the first time. As she serenaded the crowd with songs like 16 Carriages, Texas Hold ‘Em and more, she also honored black and country artists.

1) Blue Ivy joins her mom in a stellar performance
Beyoncé’s daughter, Blue Ivy, has been in the news for accompanying her mother at social events and dancing with the crew at her mother’s concerts. She therefore made an appearance at the halftime show as well. The young starlet has honed her dancing skills considerable and was seen entering the stage hand-in-hand with her mother, before she began dancing.
2) Post Malone and more join the singer
The singer used the opportunity to highlight the singers who sang with her on the Cowboy Carter album and began the performance by first introducing the four women who sang Blackbiird with her— Tiera Kennedy, Brittney Spencer, Tanner Adell and Reyna Roberts. She was then joined by Shaboozey, who sang his verse on Sweet Honey Buckin. And finally, Post Malone ramped up the performance with his vocals on Levii’s Jeans.
3) An entrance decked out in white
As the pop star sang live renditions for the very first time of many tracks from Cowboy Carter, she also made sure to make a grand and symbolic entrance. While performing her first song 16 Carriages, she passed by 16 Cadillacs on a white horse, wearing a white cowboy outfit. She proceeded to enter through the stadium’s tunnels, making a grand appearance.
4) An ode to country music icons
Beyoncé made use of the platform to highlight black artists and country icons as an ode to the genre and its roots. During her show, she kept surprising her viewers with special guest appearances by bull-rider Myrtis Dightman Jr. and the first black rodeo queen in Arkansas, Ja’Dayia Kursh.
5) 'My House' deserves a special mention
While the singer mainly sang songs from Cowboy Carter, she also threw in a quick surprise as she performed her 2023 song My House. Fans were elated and used signs to display the song’s title in the stadium’s stands. She then continued to sing the track Ya Ya to the beats of a marching band—enlivening the atmosphere.
6) An aerial finale
The Diva singer ended her performance in true diva fashion by ascending into the air. As she flew above, she sang her most famous song from the Cowboy Carter album, Texas Hold ‘Em. She also had a sign that read “BANG.” The iconic performer and singer truly gave a gift to her audiences on Christmas day.
Netflix reported on Thursday that Beyoncé's electrifying halftime performance was watched by over 27 milion viewers.
