Snoop Dogg, Snoopy, or the Doggfather- like his many names, the rapper is a man of many talents. From acting in Academy Award-winning films like Training Day to producing timeless hits, he's a jack of all trades. Born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr, Snoop Dogg began rapping in the sixth grade. His passion turned fruitful when, in 1992, he featured in Dr. Dre's song Deep Cover.
The West Coast rapper introduced his music to the world with his 19-track album Doggystyle in 1993. The breakthrough album is since credited with developing G-funk, a sub-genre of gangsta rap.
Over the years, the singer-songwriter has earned several accolades, such as the Billboard Music Award for Top Male Artist, the MTV Video Music Award for Best Rap Video, a Primetime Emmy Award, and 16 Grammy Award nominations. Some of Snoop Dogg's most notable songs stem from collaborations with other artists, such as Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry, and his mentor Dr. Dre.
