On August 19, 2024, the first day of the 2024 Democratic National Convention (DNC), United States representative Jasmine Crockett made a strong comparison between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. Labeling Trump a "career criminal", Jasmine mentioned in her speech:

An American politician and lawyer, Jasmine Crockett, has been the U.S. representative from the 30th congressional district of Texas since 2023. She defeated Representative Eddie Bernice Johnson in 2022 and was elected by her peers to be the freshman class liaison on the Democratic leadership team and minority leader Hakeem Jeffries.
In addition to making headlines with her statements, she made a mark by serving on the Oversight and Accountability Committee. In her speech at the 2024 Democratic National Convention (DNC), Crockett made a comparison between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump wherein she stated:
“Kamala Harris has a résumé. Donald Trump has a rap sheet. She presides over the Senate, while he keeps national secrets next to his thinking chair — y’all know what I said the other time — in Mar-A-Lago.”
Additionally, Crockett said that Kamala Harris lived "the American dream," while Trump is "America's nightmare". Crockett questioned Americans that while looking at the two choices before them, who would they hire between Harris and Trump.
Apart from comparing the Vice President and former President, Crockett also recounted the instance of her early time in Congress when she met Harris for the first time at her residence. Adding that she wasn't sure if she made the right decision when she first joined Congress, Crockett stated that "the Oversight Committee was unhinged" at the time.
She recalled bursting into tears when Harris confronted her, stating the Vice President consoled her and saw right through her. Describing the incident, Crockett said with tears in her eyes:
"She saw the distress. I immediately began crying. And the most powerful woman in the world wiped my tears and listened. She then said, among other things, ‘You are exactly where God wants you. Your district chose you, because they believe in you, and so do I.’”
Praising Harris, Crockett told the audience that she loves how Kamala Harris goes "beyond her resume" and that she sees humanity in everyone. She also stated that Harris is the only candidate in the 2024 Presidential race who is capable of empathy.
Jasmine Crockett has made quite the reputation for herself as the U.S. representative and her peers often appreciate her publicly, making her one of the key speakers at the 2024 DNC. Amongst her other statements, her dig at Trump dubbing him a villain also went viral wherein Crockett questioned if a "vindictive vile villain" would violate the vision of voters.
