Ariana Grande and Miley Cyrus have both spent a long time in the music industry, forging their own identities.
Grande and Cyrus have long been friends, openly supporting and defending each other at all times. Recalling the time they sang together for The Happy Hippie Foundation in 2015, Cyrus called Ariana her "real friend," on her TikTok series, further recalling:
“I was flirting with her and she was a little scared. We were having fun!”
The two singer-actresses have a lot in common. Both the stars began their careers on television before taking up music. They were also born just a year apart from each other.
Miley Cyrus supported Ariana Grande through the Manchester bombing tragedy in 2017
In 2013, Ariana Grande defended the Wrecking Ball singer after her controversial performance with Robin Thicke at the VMAs, J-14 reported. The singer-songwriter said she believed that as an "adult," Cyrus could do "whatever the hell she wants, honestly," further saying:
“She’s having so much fun. If her choices aren’t for you, don’t look at it, like, move on, talk about something else. Worry about bettering your life, not hers. She’s fine. Her life is the best that could be right now.”
When Ariana Grande was chosen for Vogue's August issue's cover in 2019, interviewers approached Miley Cyrus to share her thoughts about her friend. The Malibu singer called Grande "an open book," further saying:
“She has always shared her experiences with this beautiful blend of reality and the fantasy that pop culture requires."
Recalling the time the singer-songwriters shared the stage at the One Love Manchester benefit concert, the Hannah Montana alum said:
"Holding her in my arms that night and feeling her shake from the loss of lives, literally feeling her heart pounding against mine—when you can let down the personas and cry with the rest of the world, it’s unifying. It’s a reminder that music can be our greatest healer."
In 2017, after the tragic Manchester bombing incident after one of Grande's shows, Miley said in a Today interview:
"For my friend, Ariana ... it's just beyond me, and I can't wait until I get a second to give her a big hug."
Later, Cyrus joined the two-time Grammy winner for her benefit concert, One Love Manchester, where the duo performed Don't Dream It's Over together.

The singer went on to say that:
"There’s never been a time where I’ve asked her to do something that was important to me that she didn’t come through, and same thing for me with her.”
Both singers are currently thriving as musicians.
