Beyoncé and Madonna's first public interaction happened at Oprah's farewell party and they have raved about each other multiple times since then. Although the two don't flaunt their mutual love much, there is plenty of admiration and mutual respect between the two icons.

Their most recent public interaction happened in 2023 when Madonna attended Bey's Renaissance World Tour concert at the MetLife Stadium. The presence of the Queen of Pop didn't go unnoticed and Queen Bey gave her a shoutout while singing Break My Soul. The 2022 song samples heavily from Madonna's 1990 chartbuster, Vogue.

"Big shout-out to the Queen! Queen Mother, Madonna, we love you!” shouted Queen Bey.

Here is a comprehensive timeline of their friendship from the beginning till today.

While we don't know when Beyoncé and Madonna first met in person, their first public meeting took place because of Oprah Winfrey. In May 2011, Oprah organized a massive event at Chicago's United Center for the final few episodes of her iconic daytime talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Show.

Her first farewell chat show on May 17 was attended by juggernauts like Tom Cruise, Halle Berry, Madonna, Tom Hanks, Beyoncé, and many others. Tom Hanks introduced Madonna as a surprise guest and she paid tribute to one of the most iconic daytime hosts in history.

“It is no secret that millions of people have been inspired by Oprah and I’m one of those people,” she said.

Meanwhile, Beyoncé performed her 2011 single Run the World (Girls) in a tuxedo bodysuit as a tribute to Oprah Winfrey.
