Beyonce and Mariah Carey are fast friends, and the latter has raved about their friendship in many interviews. However, fans might not know that even their children are pals and have been on play dates together.
The Dreamlover singer talked about it in an interview with Andy Cohen during a 2018 Watch What Happens Live appearance. Carey shared that Beyonce's four-year-old Blue Ivy had hung out with her twins Monroe and Moroccan on a playdate. When asked about it by an audience member, Carey also described the interaction between the kids as 'great.'
Mariah Carey explained that her relationship with Beyonce extended beyond their children going for playdates together. The singer lauded Queen Bey and called her 'one of the most talented women out there.'
Mariah Carey and Beyonce have often been spotted together
Mariah Carey and Queen Bey have often hung out at shows and other public events and have previously talked about each other. For instance, Beyonce and Mariah Carey were seen attending a Heartview Global Foundation gala in 2016.
While Queen Bey wore an all-white attire and pearl earrings, Carey sported a lace glittering dress with sparkling cuffs and her massive engagement ring.
Carey also shared a photo of the day on her Instagram with the caption, 'Two girls, one cause.'
The gala hosted an auction, and the two multi-millionaires bid on several items. By the end of it, Queen Bey had purchased a $15,000 six-course chef's dinner for her friends and a $10,000 portrait of Ray Charles by Timothy White. Carey also bought the same portrait for a similar price.
The two have also performed at several events together in the past. In 2008, Beyonce and Carey took the stage with Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, and Mary J. Blige at New York City's Condé Nast's annual Fashion Rocks event.
The two also did a Donatella Versace fashion show together in 2003.
Mariah Carey answers whether she wants to play a Verzuz battle with Beyonce
Mariah Carey answered the question cryptically when asked whether she would face off against Beyonce in a Verzuz battle. In a 2021 interview with E!, Carey was asked whether she would be willing to take on Queen Bey in a Verzuz battle. However, the five-time Grammy winner said:
"I love Beyoncé and I admire her so much as a performer for what she's done for the world and everything else," she replied.
However, she was pressed further and couldn't avoid the question:
"I'd be disrespecting myself and I'm not going to do that, because it's Christmas time," she commented.
Fans of both singers were excited about an actual face-off when L.A. Reid hinted at a potential Verzuz battle between Beyonce and Mariah Carey a few months later.
In an interview on The Real, the music mogul quipped about the spectacle and opened up about his excitement. He revealed that both of them had fans and implored the two to 'bring it on.'
However, we have still not seen a Verzuz battle between the two industry juggernauts. Fans of both still hope they plan on getting on each other's nerves in public sometime soon.
