Boosie Badazz broke his silence on his Texas arrest warrant, and the internet had a lot to say. Earlier this month on Friday, September 20, Boosie had a warrant issued against him in Austin, Texas for an alleged theft of service charge. The charge stemmed from the rapper allegedly failing to pay $8,800 to a chauffeur service, which he and his entourage reportedly used in the city in June.
In a video statement to The Shade Room published on Tuesday, September 24, the rapper called the whole situation a "misunderstanding" and revealed that he had been cleared of the charge after paying the restitution amount. He claimed that he had rented the company's Sprinter van to take his kids out, but the van was broken into, and his belongings were stolen.
The rapper thought that his social media promotions for the chauffeur and his wife were in exchange for payment. He said:
"I thought I was doing a drop for the use of sprinter to take my kids to the water park. I did the drop for the sprinter business, I also did a drop for his wife food company,"
He added:
"I’m just glad it’s been resolved. I paid the restitution. I ain’t finna do nothing on no fed paper bout some crumbs,"
Social media users were glad that the rapper admitted to the misunderstanding and paid his fine instead of making a big deal out of it. One Instagram user with the handle @sopressedd_ commented under The Shade Room's post of the rapper's statement:
"At least he admitted and paid that’s way less than what these other celebs do!!"
Similar reactions followed as most social media users had postive comments for Boosie Badazz. Fans requested that people leave the rapper alone and asked him not to get caught up in stuff like this anymore.
A few social media users joked about how Boosie was always in the news, getting into trouble for one thing or another.
Boosie Badazz did social media promotions for the chauffeur service
According to The Shade Room, after repeated queries to the rapper and his manager about payment, the driver sent him an invoice for $8,800, which he claimed he never got.
The rapper reportedly used the chauffeur service on June 5 to pick his associates up from the Austin airport, after which he was chauffeured for three more days. Boosie posted a promotional video for the chauffeur business on Instagram, praising the company. The driver expressed his thanks by talking about offering the rapper a good price.
Boosie allegedly proposed some cost deduction for the promotional video, and the driver offered to work something out. However, the driver later told police that such a deal never existed and that no such terms were agreed upon. The aforementioned charge was filed on August 29, 2024.
