Fans were left concerned during Billie Eilish's concert in Glendale as they were reportedly turned away at wristband pickup a day before the concert on December 12, 2024. ABC 15 Arizona spoke to some of the fans at the event.
The attendees seemingly getting turned away at the wristband pickup were those who bought tickets to Eilish's Hit Me Hard and Soft tour on websites other than Ticketmaster.
Additionally, X page @concertleaks posted a now-deleted video on December 13, 2024, showcasing a Billie Eilish concert attendee's conversation with a woman who told them that the show has a "no ticket transfer policy". The woman allegedly said:
"No tickets could have been transferred from the original purchaser. They were only released on Ticketmaster so any tickets bought through directly through Ticketmaster are valid."
She added that the tickets must have an orange background as that is the indicator for valid tickets. In the now-deleted video, the woman also suggested that fans get a refund from websites like SeatGeek or Vivid Seats, wherever they bought their tickets from. Additionally, the official website of the Dessert Diamond Arena where Eilish's concert took place mentioned its rules for wristband pickup stating:
"YOU MUST BE PRESENT WITH YOUR OWN TICKET TO RECIEVE YOUR WRISTBAND."
StubHub offers solution to fans who bought Billie Eilish concert tickets from their website: Details explored
Ticket re-selling and buying website StubHub shared a statement with ABC 15, offering a solution to Billie Eilish fans who had purchased tickets via their website. For the unversed, StubHub is a marketplace wherein fans can buy and sell tickets for music and sports events globally.
In the statement, StubHub mentioned that Ticketmaster had restricted transfers for Billie Eilish's Hit Me Hard and Soft tour, preventing tickets from being added directly to the customers' Ticketmaster account.
The ticket platform stated that buyers can access Eilish's concert with a "valid barcode URL link". StubHub's statement further read:
"Consumers should always have the choice to purchase a freely transferable ticket at the initial point of sale. They should not be penalized nor discriminated against for transferring, reselling, or purchasing a resold ticket on the platform of their choosing, and terms and conditions that prevent sellers from being able to do so are unconscionable."
The platform added that it has successfully assisted thousands of ticket holders in accessing Billie Eilish's tour using such tickets and that StubHub is confident that the valid barcode URL links will help fans get access to the concert. StubHub also stated that "tickets are rotating barcodes" and as long as the barcode continues to circulate, the tickets remain valid for entry.
StubHub stated that it has a FanProtect Guarantee that assures buyers that an order will get them access to an event or they can have their money back. It also mentioned that consumers could get in touch with the platform's customer service if issues still persists.
Seemingly making a comment on Ticketmaster restricting transfers for Billie Eilish's tour, StubHub's statement highlighted that ticket buyers and sellers must have flexibility, and "transferability is key in enabling that."
In other news, the Hit Me Hard and Soft tour is Billie Eilish's seventh headlining concert tour in support of her third studio album by the same name. The tour began on September 29, 2024, at the Videotron Center in Quebec City and is set to end on July 27, 2025, at the 3Arena, Dublin.
